The history of the Auckland Triumph Car Club (ATCC) dates back to the late 1980s when a group of dedicated Triumph car owners got together to form the club. From these humble beginnings, the club we have today was formed and membership currently stands at over 100 people and around 200 cars..
The ATCC has an enthusiastic showing at annual Classic Car shows such as the Ellerslie Concours de Elegance, the Brit & Euro Classic in Pakuranga and the Te Aroha Cruise-in.
Regularly organised day runs and workshops at the weekends are supplemented with the annual Taupo Road and Track weekend and overnight trips to a variety of car collections up and down the country.
One of the club's principal days is the annual Show and Shine. We take the view that a Triumph is for driving as well as looking at, so vehicles are welcome to participate regardless of condition and it is definitely not a Concourse event! The TR Register - an affiliated club - joins us, so you get to look at everything from the TR2 through to the TR8 as well as Stags, Heralds, Vitesses, GT6s, Spitfires, Dolomites and 2000 / 2500 Saloons and Estates. We usually even have a beautiful 1948 1800 Roadster on display.
Weekend technical workshops include body restoration, engine / carburettor tuning / timing and maintenance of the various models. These are practical workshops and aimed at people who want to keep their cars up to scratch themselves, although the instructors are very patient - even with newbies! We want you to get the most enjoyment out of your car, so if you want to learn, we'll teach you!
If you own (or are considering the purchase of) any model of Triumph in the Auckland area, come along to one of the events and join in. You will be very welcome!
